Alerting people as to the nutritional facts of any given food stuff that they are about to consume is considered ill form at the gaming table and grounds for in-game character reprisals. |
Fooding at the gaming table is an important item to consider when you plan to spend six hours in Beck's basement. Food that can be shared with your fellow gamers and GM should be given first priority. You will wish to avoid foods that cause gastric distress.
D&D games played using MapTool have provided us with a unique ability to make use of table space for food stuffs instead of Tac Tiles or other physical representations of our surroundings and gameplay. It is our civic duty to fill this space with delicious treats.

Beverages
ferrispc: water (by the gallon and cold)
ohlrj: diet sunkist (warm)
beckmd: mt. dew
Candy
Swedish fish, sour brite gummy worms, gummy worms, and dots (except yellow and green) seem to be universally appreciated by our gaming group.
Papa Johns
Papa Johns has a web portal. Web portals are an important point to take into consideration if ordering with a credit card. Due to the web portal you are able to avoid the embarrassment of reading your credit card number and expiration date out loud to a group of 18-26 year olds. Web portals are also of use if your cell phone does not get adequate coverage in Beck's basement. Beck is too cheap to purchase/install a repeater in his house so if you opt not to use the web portal (perhaps to engage in some of the crazy deals that Papa Johns publicizes on campusmenus.com) you will need to walk away from the gaming table, out of the basement, through the garage, and all the way out to Beck's mailbox before you receive three bars.
Sloppy Joes
Good in moderation.
Donuts
Don't bother purchasing powdered cinnamon rolls because no one will touch them. Custard filled donuts are to be given preference over cream filled donuts. Lemon filling is just gross.
Cookies
Cookies are a good item to bring to the gaming table. They are of a munchable size, do not create gastric distress (even if you eat too many), and don't leave a mess behind (unless the barbarian smashes your cookie into the table in a display of strength). You can usually pick up forty cookies for four dollars from the bakery at Krogers. Fresh cookies straight from the oven are even better than normal cookies.
Chips
Cool Ranch Doritos never escape alive from our gaming table. They also do not leave an orange tinge on your fingers the way that Nacho Cheese Doritos tend to.
Goldfish
Look like cat food --especially if you get the multicolored variety. Can be purchased in fantastically large containers with a pour spout.
Combos
Pizzeria style combos are a favorite of our gaming group. Make sure that you have ample amounts of your preferred beverage on hand before opening a bag of Pizzeria style combos or you are in for a long night of dry mouth.
Pretzels
Pretzels are cheap. You can purchase a giant bag for ninety-nine cents. They are also sometimes available as part of "buy one get one free" deals. An unopened pretzel bag keeps a long time. Opened pretzel bags should be disposed of at the end of the night. Nobody likes stale pretzels.
Pop Tarts
These toaster pastries are considered experimental by some and blasphemous by others. No matter your opinion on their status as an acceptable gaming table food, there is no denying their caloric punch. Pop Tarts are available with a variety of filling and topping options. Ferrispc prefers frosted strawberry Pop Tarts. Generic versions are also available if you find that Pop Tarts are not priced reasonably and you have failed your Diplomacy check with the merchant to lower the price by 10%.
